Evening all...
Just dropping by with some info that may be of interest to you?Maybe not,but I've found it to be quite helpful...
Our lessons with Stiobhart have shown us the basics in Photoshop but if you want to further your skills it's good to have a mess around and there are plenty of tutorials websites available which is what I've done in the past.
The one that I find most useful is Tutorialized.Tutorialized organise and group their tutorials e.g. Text Effects, Photo Touch, Photo Effects, Abstract, Digital Art etc so it's easy to navigate around the website. The only snag is they have some stupid bar that takes up half of the screen when you're on a tutorial so just copy and paste the link of the tutorial in a new tab/window.
They also provide tutorials for Final Cut, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash if you're interested.
DeviantArt is also the way to go if you really want to be creative in Photoshop. There are really funky cool, and even retro, fonts and brushes of all sorts to add a more creative spark to your work or whatever it is you'll be doing and I'd also check out all the quality work people have posted on it.
Finally, there are alot of tutorial websites out there so if you do struggle with the on screen stuff then I'd advise you to have a mess around as it helps you to become more familiar with the software. Therefore,it'll be easier to use when you use it on any of your future briefs :-)
If you don't have the software, Adobe provide a free trial for 30 days - Adobe. They also provide student discount on their software (up to 80%).
