Manchester Irish Festival
You folks may not be aware but there is an international cultural event of some significance on in Manchester at the moment... The Manchester Irish Festival!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!
I can tell you're all very excited.
It started last Friday and runs till Sunday 21st of March and includes live music, comedy, dance at venues all over the place, as well as the St. Patricks Day Parade through town on this Sunday, and actual Paddy's Day partying next Wednesday the 17th.
There's also a gig by legendary folk band The Dubliners at the Lowry... if that's your bag.
There's a full list of events on the web site -

A lot of it's probably not worth bothering with, but the parade in town on Sunday might be interesting, and I reckon I might head down to either O'Sheas (a great little pub that does decent Irish food too) next Wednesday for a few pints, or Mulligans on Deansgate (where they claim to serve the best Guinness in town), just for the craic you know!
