macheist is a website which every year runs an online 'treasure hunt' type thingy, wherein geeks with too much time on their hands work out the answers to puzzles, thus unlocking free software licences as rewards. fortunately you can just sign up to the site and grab the freebies as and when they become available, without having to participate in the 'game'.
anyway, this year, they're giving away a bundle of apps up front, with more being made free as the number of folks signing up increases. at the mo' it's 5 out of the 6. the apps are obviously not of the quality of the likes of yer photoshop or illustrator, but one or two of them are not bad.
... and you cannae knock a freebie!
